Wishing you all a Blessed Thanksgiving....

Psalm 95:1-6

O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker."

Psalm 100
"Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations."

1 Chronicles 29:11-13
"Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.

Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.

Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name."

Here is what I found one day when I came home from running a few errands. Anna had curled up on Charles bed and fell asleep. What a little sweetie:)

Thanksgiving Recipe.....

I came across a stuffing recipe about a little over a year ago and it was awesome. Once you have eaten homemade stuffing it is really hard to eat Stove Top stuffing. I still use Stove Top for times I want fast and easy, but for special occasions it's nice to put a little extra time into it. So here is the link to Turkey (or Chicken) Stuffing Casserole. I am planning on making this, but leaving the turkey out of it, but this would also be a great dish to help us up the left over turkey. There are also lots of other great casserole recipes at the Watkins website.

Where does the time go....

Sorry for the lack of posts this week. I really can't believe Friday is here already. We have all been sick here with stuffed up noises and feeling a bit tired. I have also been working on Christmas presents and trying to get everything together to see what I have. I can't believe that next week is Thanksgiving and before we know it Brandon will be done with another semester and we will be off to Nebraska for a couple of weeks. Here are just a few random pictures from the last week. Enjoy:)

I know we said we would keep the dog off the couch. Most of the time she is unless she wants to snuggle.

The dog had climbed in the landry basket because Anna had put a bunch of pillows and blankets in it. Charles loves pillows and blankets.
The kids were enjoying a good size bowl of black olives. The things they will eat:)

Gabe was showing me what he was making with his play dough. They have been playing with play dough a lot lately, since it is to cold to play outside.

Here are some verses to ponder for the week:)

James 1:17-25

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Also if you would like to hear more on these verses you can go here to listen to a sermon entitled, "Truth Engrafted Liberty". You will also find many other sermons to listen to as well.

Open Gym.....

Three days a week there is a open Gym held at an elementary school in town. It runs just during the cold months and it gives mom's and daycare's a place to take kids to play. As you can see from the pictures there are things to do for all ages. The kids have had a good time and it's great to be able to get the kids out of the house to play. Today when we got home about 11:30 the kids laid on the couch and Gabe fell asleep shortly after wards.

Fabric Jackpot.......

Well I had to go to Joann Fabrics again today to get a few things that I needed and lets just say it was a great day to go. They were having a big Veterans day sale, so all there fabrics were 50% off and that included the already red tag items. So the fabrics below I got for either $1 to $2 a yard. What a great deal:) I then had a coupon for an additional 10% off my whole purchase. It was a good day and I should be able to make lots of nice items with these fabrics. Also I know not may of the family members or friends leave many comments, but if you have a fabric you really like a lot please let me know and I will make a note of it:)

Here I am in the middle of a project....

Thanks for the wonderful Blanket.......

I received this super soft flannel blanket in the mail from Grandma & Grandpa Kostman about a little over a week ago. It will be so nice for little Noah to snuggle and cuddle with this winter.

Grandma Kara made flannel blankets for the older two kids. Gabriel is so attached to it that he slept with it even on the hottest days this past summer.
Thanks again Grandma & Grandpa:)

Recipe Box Swap

I'm joining Randi for the first time at I Have to Say for a recipe swap. This month's theme is "anything goes". This recipe is a long time favorite from my growing up years. My grandma would make this for most holidays and family gatherings. Also if anyone's grandma is like mine grandma's always taste better then what I could ever make, but this last summer I came across this fancy pearl rice, which makes awesome rice pudding and reminds me of my grandma. So here's the recipe......

Rice Pudding

4 cups milk
1 cup sugar
1 cup rice
dash of salt

I add all the ingredient to my slow cooker and cook till thick and creamy. When done then add a tsp of Vanilla and sprinkle with cinnamon. Also when I make this I usually double or tripe the recipe, so I have some for a few days. So Easy & Yummy:)

I just made this recipe last night, so that's how I was able to add the pictures. Let me know if you try it out and enjoy it:)

Knickknacks......

I stopped at Joann Fabrics yesterday to get some thread for some items that I am sewing and came across this cute chicken. Knickknacks are something I don't usually buy for myself because first I don't like to spend the money for them and second I don't have very many places to put them, but this was an exception. It was also on sale and cost me less then $5. It's a nice addition to the few little fall/thanksgiving items that I have to decorate my house.

I also had a wonderful time at Joann Fabrics and need to be careful to not go in to often. There is so many neat things and awesome fabrics that one could definitely get lost.....

Outside Already......

It's only 8:00 a.m and the kids are already outside playing. The weather has been so nice the last few days, which is wonderful for the kids and mom as well. The kids were also outside playing well past dark last night. They have been having lots of fun with the leaves.

So while the kids play I am going to try and get some floors cleaned and laundry folded. I'm not sure what else is planned for the day, but I hope to get the kids out for a walk, which will be nice for all of us.

Here is also a picture of the Charlie. She also has been enjoying the weather and the leaves.
